1/4 teaspoon citric acid (optional, but recommended for a more authentic flavor)
In a blender or food processor, combine the frozen orange juice concentrate, coconut milk, sugar, salt, and orange extract. Blend until smooth.
Taste and adjust the sweetness or flavor as needed. If using citric acid, add it now and blend well.
Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Once the mixture has finished churning, transfer it to an airtight container and place it in the freezer to harden for at least 2 hours.
Once hardened, scoop the Orange Dole Whip into cones or bowls and enjoy!
Note: If you don’t have an ice cream maker, you can also freeze the mixture in a shallow metal pan and then blend it in a food processor once it’s frozen solid. This will give you a slightly chunkier texture, similar to the original Dole Whip.
